Colton Shaw
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Shaw’s best path is as a long reliever or spot starter whose low-slot angle and movement-heavy mix can disrupt hitters in multiple innings. The sinker and sweeper provide a useful east-west pairing, while the changeup offers a credible third look; his command and demonstrated workload give him a chance to remain in a rotation while developing. The ceiling is constrained by the absence of a clear plus out pitch and reports that his fastball sits below premium velocity, making a durable up-and-down role a conservative outcome unless one secondary becomes more dominant.
