The realistic path is a durable mid-rotation starter built around a plus to plus-plus four-seam fastball, a hard slider and a usable vertical curveball. Jones has already demonstrated enough strikeout ability to survive major-league lineups, and the 2026 performance supports the idea that the stuff remains capable of missing bats, but the home-run total and uneven run prevention show that execution still matters. If he maintains the delivery gains, improves fastball location at the edges and gives the changeup enough separation to punish opposite-handed hitters, a No. 3 starter outcome is attainable.
