Loud Bats, Lower Levels: Level And Petersen Set The Tone Tuesday belonged to the young bats, and Jhonny Level set the pace. The Giants shortstop, ranked 79th on the 80Grade board, went 3-for-6 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI for Low-A San Jose, backing up his already strong .327/.390/.565 season line with a true takeover game. The switch-hitting 19-year-old has now run his season total to 7 homers and 10 steals in 33 games, showing the exact blend of bat speed, plate feel, and pop that put him inside the global top 100. Not far behind on the fireworks scale was Nationals outfielder Sam Petersen at Double-A Harrisburg. The No. 369 overall prospect reached in three of four trips, going 2-for-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, driving in 3. Petersen’s carrying tools are speed and athleticism, but his season line is up to .234/.367/.460 with 7 homers and 12 steals in 38 games, and nights like this hint at more than a reserve-only ceiling. Quick Hits Malcolm Moore , C, Rangers (A+ Hub City, Overall #343): Logged a 3-for-4 showing with 2 doubles and a home run, 1 RBI, and no strikeouts, pushing his season slash to .333/.420/.623 with 12 doubles and 7 homers in 29 games, exactly the kind of extra-base barrage that supports his second-division regular projection behind the plate. Jace LaViolette , OF, Guardians (A+ Lake County, Overall #162): Went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, 2 singles, a walk, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored, lifting his season line to .216/.321/.422 with 6 homers; the contact issues are still present, but this was the full “discipline plus thunder” look Cleveland signed up for. José Anderson , OF, Brewers (A Wisconsin, Overall #331): Delivered a true three-true-outcomes special lite, going 2-for-5 with 2 HR and 2 RBI but also 2 strikeouts; he is now at .180/.280/.446 with 10 homers in 36 games, and this kind of power spike is exactly what keeps the corner-outfield bench projection alive despite strikeout risk. Braylon Payne , OF, Brewers (A+ Wisconsin, Overall #219): Matched Anderson’s box line at the next level up, going 2-for-5 with 2 HR, 2 RBI and 2 strikeouts, pushing his season to .281/.383/.614 with 10 homers and 9 steals in 29 games; for a 19-year-old 70-speed center fielder, that’s bordering on statement territory. Cooper Kinney , 2B, Rays (AAA Durham, Overall #261): Reached base in all four plate appearances with a 3-for-3, BB line, all singles, without a strikeout, running his combined AA/AAA season to .339/.427/.581 with 10 doubles, 6 homers and a 34:18 K:BB; the bat-first everyday second-base path the Rays hoped for is very much on track. Theo Gillen , OF, Rays (A+ Bowling Green, Overall #47): Went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, 3 RBI and one strikeout, bumping his High-A line to .333/.430/.675 with 9 homers and 14 steals in 31 games; the top-50 prospect keeps pairing elite OBP skills with growing in-game power. Yordany De Los Santos , SS, Pirates (A+ Greensboro, Overall #372): Collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, all doubles, with 2 RBI and 1 strikeout; across A and A+ he is now at .279/.328/.590 with 5 homers and 5 steals in only 67 plate appearances, a welcome step forward for a tools-first shortstop who needs real offensive traction. Andrew Fischer , 3B, Brewers (A+ Wisconsin, Overall #124): Posted a 3-for-5 line with 2 singles, a homer, 1 RBI and 2 strikeouts, continuing a power-heavy start that has him at .264/.367/.608 with 11 homers in 33 games; the bat is carrying exactly as Milwaukee hoped while the glove and mobility development lag behind. Troy Melton , RHP, Tigers (A Lakeland/AAA Toledo, Overall #172): Worked 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball with 1 ER, 6 strikeouts, no walks, and a .118 BAA, good for a 1.80 game ERA and 0.40 WHIP; across A and AAA he is now at a 1.54 ERA with 16 K and just 2 walks in 11.2 innings, a clean fit with his 60-grade fastball and 60 slider starter blueprint. Anthony Eyanson , RHP, Red Sox (AA Portland, Overall #98): Spun 5.0 no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks, holding opponents to an .000 average and a .129 wOBA on the day; for the season between High-A and Double-A he sits at a 0.61 ERA with 42 strikeouts and 10 hits allowed in 29.1 innings, riding the plus slider and deep mix that pushed him into the overall top 100. Junior Ciprian , RHP, D-backs (A Visalia, Overall #310): Logged 6.0 innings with 2 hits, 2 ER, 5 strikeouts and 4 walks, yielding a .100 BAA in the outing; his season line now shows a 3.03 ERA with 37 K and 18 walks in 35.2 innings, pretty much the pure “huge fastball, shaky command” story the 40+ FV tag anticipated. Ty Johnson , RHP, Rays (AAA Durham, Overall #256): Fired 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk and 2 HBPs with 5 strikeouts, producing a 0.60 WHIP and .111 BAA for the night; in 12.1 Triple-A innings he has yet to allow an earned run, with 16 K and 4 walks, as the deceptive 94–95 fastball and plus slider start to look big-league ready. Bryce Cunningham , RHP, Yankees (A+ Hudson Valley, Overall #130): Went 4.2 innings with 1 hit, 1 ER, 6 strikeouts and 2 walks, good for a 1.93 game ERA and 0.64 WHIP; despite a 5.40 season ERA in 13.1 High-A innings, he now has 19 strikeouts against only 7 hits allowed, and the fastball/changeup combo still points squarely at a mid-rotation ceiling if the walks settle. Manuel Rodriguez , RHP, Brewers (AA Biloxi, Overall #332): Gave Biloxi 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball with 2 ER, no walks and 6 strikeouts, posting a 0.56 WHIP and .150 BAA for the start; he now owns a 4.89 ERA in 38.2 Double-A innings with 33 K and 7 walks, and the outing was a clean example of how his plus-plus command and 55 slider can overcome below-average fastball velocity. Johnny King , LHP, Blue Jays (A+ Vancouver, Overall #150): Turned in 4.2 innings with 4 hits, 1 ER, 5 strikeouts and 3 walks, generating a 1.93 game ERA while fighting his control; his season sits at a 0.99 ERA with 38 strikeouts and 17 walks in 27.1 innings, with the elite fastball/curveball movement profile still clearly outpacing his present command.
