Josiah Ragsdale
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, performance and physical traits, Ragsdale projects as a speed-driven center fielder with a chance to grow into a second-division regular if the hit tool stabilizes. The path involves tightening his swing to reduce strikeouts while maintaining his emerging power, and improving reads and routes so his speed plays more efficiently on defense. Even if the bat settles closer to fringe-average, his combination of on-base ability, baserunning impact and up-the-middle defensive value could support a bench or platoon role. If the strikeouts remain elevated and defensive polish lags, his likely outcome trends toward an up-down depth outfielder who can provide energy and matchup value when called upon.
