Luke Heyman
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Developmental backup catcher prospect with potential to carve out complementary organizational role if secondary pitch approach improves through professional instruction. Receiving skills and power tool provide foundational baseline for mid-to-late innings catching responsibilities. Positional versatility likely limited to first base or designated hitter given body type and athletic constraints. Projects as organizational depth piece rather than impact prospect. Development trajectory depends significantly on ability to improve contact rates against offspeed pitches through mechanical refinement and pitch recognition advancement. Has pathway to useful complementary player but star potential appears unlikely.
