Dominick Reid

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

With a plus changeup, average fastball characteristics, and a deep but still-developing mix of secondaries, he projects most realistically as a back-end starter who can log innings when the command and change are working. If the slider or curve takes a meaningful step forward and the fastball velocity holds in the mid-90s, there is room to creep toward a solid mid-rotation ceiling. More conservatively, he looks like a #4 or #5 starter type whose value comes from durability and the ability to turn lineups over twice with his primary combo. There is a fallback path to a multi-inning relief role if the command or breaking ball development stalls, but the current mix and delivery justify continued investment in a starting role.

Projected MLB role: #4 starter
