Bryan Baker
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Established major league reliever functioning as middle relief and occasional high-leverage arm. Projects to continue as useful bullpen contributor with ability to absorb multiple innings and generate strike-outs. Home run rate presents significant risk to ERA outcomes despite underlying stuff quality. Command profile and velocity should remain relatively stable given age. Most likely career trajectory involves continued middle relief role with occasional opportunities for save situations depending on team's closer situation. Rays have demonstrated confidence in ability to manage home run risk through acquisition cost and multi-year control.
