Jacob Johnson
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Johnson fits as a projection-based depth starter with enough arm talent to keep moving if the command makes a real step forward. The best-case path is a back-end starter who leans on a lively fastball and at least one usable breaking ball, but the current walk totals keep him from projecting as more than a #5 starter candidate for now. If the strike-throwing tightens and the shoulder remains a non-issue, he has a chance to outgrow his draft slot; if not, the arsenal and body still give him a reasonable floor as a multi-inning relief arm.
