Casey Mize
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Casey Mize projects as a solid number two or three starting pitcher in major league rotation assuming he can maintain durability and health going forward. His ceiling as established pitcher involves consistent mid-rotation production with ERA in the 3.60-3.90 range. Best-case scenario involves elevated performance as a reliable number two starter if mechanical refinements hold and injury concerns are mitigated. Realistic floor is a back-end rotation starter or occasional swingman role given medical history. His 2025 season represents significant development breakthrough after setback year in 2024, validating the strategic arsenal and mechanical adjustments made with external coaching support. Continued progression depends heavily on ability to stay healthy and successfully integrate expanded pitch mix in competition.
