Scouting summary
Established utility infielder-outfielder entering age 31 season and final years of five-year, $74 million Dodgers extension. Best deployed as primary second baseman with flexibility to shortstop and center field rather than everyday outfielder. Primary value derives from elite defense, above-average speed and baserunning, and championship-caliber makeup rather than offensive production. Post-ankle surgery recovery will be critical factor in determining durability and ongoing value. Projects as reliable 2-3 WAR player providing elite defensive versatility and baserunning prowess if fully healthy. Conservative projection suggests 1-2 WAR if ankle issues persist. Proven postseason performer with two World Series championships and 2024 NLCS MVP honors. Best utilized in complementary role on contending rosters with depth at offensive positions.
