Scouting summary
Cruz projects as a versatile reserve who can cover second base, shortstop, selected third-base assignments, and the outfield in a matchup-oriented role. The carrying traits are defensive flexibility, adequate athleticism, switch-hitting competence, and a mature enough approach to reach base, while the limited power and uneven contact leave little margin for defensive decline. His best path is to become a dependable multi-position defender who can punish mistakes and avoid extended strikeout stretches. The floor is an upper-minors organizational player, with a utility bench role the realistic ceiling.
