Kevin Abel
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Abel's curveball and changeup give him a foundation to remain effective when his fastball is below average, and the deceptive delivery can help the heater play better than its radar reading. However, the available reports show the fastball dipping into the upper 80s with poor command, while recent supplied statistics reinforce concerns about walks and consistency. Given his age, injury history, and uncertain present role, the most plausible path is a depth-relief opportunity if command and health improve; the floor is organizational depth, with only a cautious up-down ceiling.
