Calvin Ziegler

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Ziegler still has a plausible path to a mid-rotation outcome if the command and changeup make incremental gains, but the more likely result is a back-end starter or power relief arm. The pure stuff is good enough to keep the starter door open, especially with a fastball that can miss bats and a curveball that can finish at-bats. If the control never sharpens, the velocity/curve combination should still fit in a leverage relief role. The floor is stronger than many pitcher prospects because the arm strength is real, but the ceiling depends heavily on whether he can make the third pitch and strike-throwing more dependable.
