Sal Frelick
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Legitimate major league producer who will likely remain a professional hitter due to contact skills and speed rather than traditional power tools. Projects as top-of-order catalyst and potential leadoff option who will post .270+ averages with walk rates above strikeout rates. Defensive versatility and athletic ability provide value beyond offense. Should maintain 2-3 WAR floor through excellent defense and baserunning while offensive ceiling appears set at 3-4 WAR (like 2025) contingent on sustaining improved power approach. Unlikely to develop into slugger but has found legitimate value as complete player through 2025 mechanical and approach improvements. Remainder of career trajectory dependent on whether current power surge can be maintained or if profile reverts to low-power contact hitter.
