Gavin Collyer
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Collyer presents a classic case of elite raw stuff limited by poor command execution. His arsenal legitimately grades among the best in the minors, with his fastball and sweeper earning plus-plus raw grades. However, his deteriorating walk rates and inability to consistently throw strikes significantly limit his upside. He profiles best as a high-leverage relief option if he can make a meaningful step forward in command and control. Without improvement in this critical area, his long-term outlook becomes concerning despite carrying tools. The unique arm angle and elite spin may ultimately be better suited to shorter appearance stints rather than extended minor league success as a multi-inning reliever.
