Josh White

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his age, physical maturity, and current two-pitch focus, he most realistically projects as a middle-to-setup reliever who can miss bats but may be volatile at times. The path forward is consolidating fastball command at the top and edges of the zone while sharpening the slider to a consistent plus offering that can finish at-bats at the big-league level. Development of even a fringe third pitch or a more distinct breaker variant would help him avoid platoon issues and sustain success across multiple innings. If command backs up or the slider doesn’t hold, he could settle into more of an up-down middle reliever; if the command and slider tick up, he has a chance to stick in a regular setup role. Durability should be adequate for 60+ inning seasons, pending continued health and bullpen usage.

Projected MLB role: setup reliever
