Jacob Melton
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Melton has the athleticism, running ability, defensive versatility, and raw power to remain in a major-league outfield mix, with his best path coming through reliable corner-outfield defense and improved offensive consistency. The 2026 combination of walks, home-run production, and stolen bases is encouraging, but his major-league sample exposed the timing and secondary-pitch problems that keep the hit tool from projecting comfortably above average. The likely ceiling is a second-division regular who contributes power and speed while moving between left field and center field; the floor is a left-handed fourth outfielder if the swing remains vulnerable to elevated velocity and quality offspeed pitching.
