Jackson Baumeister
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Baumeister’s path is built on a solid fastball-led starter’s foundation, but his future hinges on whether the strikes come often enough to let the stuff play in short bursts of damage prevention. The combination of a playable heater, a usable breaking ball, and enough physicality gives him a real chance to stay in a rotation or at least function as a multi-inning arm. The recent walk rate and home-run exposure push the floor down, though, because average command against advanced hitters will leave him vulnerable when the fastball misses into the middle of the plate. If the strike-throwing tightens to fringe-average, he can settle as a back-end starter; if not, the bullpen becomes the cleaner fit.
