Blade Tidwell
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Blade Tidwell projects as a professional starting pitcher at the major league level capable of functioning as a No. 3 or No. 4 starter if he can sustain recent command improvements demonstrated with Giants organization. His premium fastball and slider combination provides sufficient stuff for major league success if command consistency develops. However, ongoing walk-rate concerns and limited positive major league sample create meaningful uncertainty regarding ultimate outcome. In worst-case scenario, could transition to high-leverage relief role where walk-rate concerns become less prominent and fastball-slider combination maximizes effectiveness. The revised pitch mix emphasizing secondary pitches over fastball represents key strategic insight into maximizing his strengths.
