Davis Diaz
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Diaz projects most plausibly as a versatile reserve whose contact skill and on-base approach could support a bench role if the bat translates against upper-level pitching. His best route is to continue improving as a catcher while retaining credible ability at the infield corners, giving a club roster flexibility. The ceiling is constrained by below-average power and a compact frame, while the floor is an organizational utility player if his bat is too light or his receiving does not progress. Recent offensive performance offers encouragement but remains uneven and should not outweigh the longer-term need to demonstrate impact and defensive reliability.
