Gabe Craig
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
The carrying trait is a potential double-plus sweeping slider that can miss bats and finish at-bats against advanced hitters. A mid-90s four-seam fastball with life gives him a viable second weapon, but his margin will depend on keeping enough fastballs in the strike zone to prevent hitters from waiting solely for the breaker. The professional sample is encouraging overall, though the walk and hit totals indicate that his control has not yet become a dependable major-league tool. With continued strike-throwing and durability in a full relief schedule, he can reach a setup or seventh-to-eighth-inning role; the floor is a more volatile middle reliever if the fastball command backs up.
