Erian Rodriguez
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Rodriguez projects as a back-of-the-rotation starter or bullpen arm in the major leagues. His heavy fastball and ground-ball approach, combined with demonstrated control and ability to limit home runs, provide value in a specific role. He will need to either improve his strikeout rate as a starter or transition to relief where his velocity and movement profile could play up and generate more swing-and-miss. Most likely outcome is a long reliever or #5 starter role, assuming he remains healthy. Limited ceiling due to below-average strikeout rates and secondary pitch quality.
