Bryce Cunningham

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his present stuff, frame and track record, Cunningham reasonably projects as a potential #3 or #4 starter, with a more conservative expectation of settling into the back of a rotation. The fastball and changeup give him two legitimate major-league-caliber weapons, and an average slider plus workable command would be enough to turn a lineup over. In a less ideal scenario where command or breaking ball development plateaus, he could still provide value as a multi-inning bulk reliever who leans heavily on the fastball-change combo. Continued refinement of his strike-throwing and the glove-side breaking ball will determine whether he reaches the mid-rotation band or slides into more of a #4/#5 profile.

Projected MLB role: all-star #3 starter
