Duce Gourson
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Gourson’s path is that of a versatile, on-base-oriented infielder whose ability to play second and third and add value on the bases gives him a chance to reach the majors. The combination of strong walk production, some gap power, and useful speed is encouraging, but his 2026 batting average and modest impact numbers underline the challenge of turning patience into sustained offense against upper-level pitching. With limited physical projection and no clear defensive carrying tool, the most realistic outcome is a depth infielder who could earn an up-and-down role if the contact rate holds and his defense remains dependable. A regular role would require more consistent hard contact and adequate second-base defense.
