Ethan Flanagan
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Flanagan projects as a back-end starter or long relief specialist at the major league level if injury recovery proves durable and secondary offerings continue developing. His below-average fastball velocity and spin rate create ceiling limitations that require exceptional command and multiple viable secondary pitches to overcome. Left-handed status provides meaningful relative advantage. Most conservative realistic assessment acknowledges that 17th-round picks rarely reach major league competition and face substantial risk of limited organizational utility if secondary offerings prove insufficient or arm durability concerns recur.
