Tanner McDougal
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
McDougal has the ingredients of a back-end starter: starter’s frame, enough athletic repeatability, and a history of missing bats well enough to keep innings moving. The 2025 breakout and the better 2026 Triple-A run show that the stuff can play when he is on time, but the walk rate and uneven early career make him more of a durable but volatile profile than a bankable mid-rotation arm. If the command settles to average and one secondary becomes a true put-away pitch, he can stick in a rotation; if not, he still has a path to multi-inning relief as a fallback.
