Brandon Barriera
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
If Barriera stays healthy, the fastball-slider combination gives him a realistic chance to develop into a mid-rotation left-handed starter. The slider is the clearest carrying pitch, while the fastball has shown enough velocity and life to play when located; improved command and a usable changeup are necessary to keep the profile in the rotation. His floor is materially lower because of the surgery history, missed development time, and uneven early professional strike throwing. A healthy 2026-27 workload with repeatable mechanics could restore the pre-draft trajectory, but the prudent projection is a No. 4 starter rather than the frontline outcome once associated with his draft status.
