JP Wheat
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Extra-large, athletic righty with a fastball that can flash average and the frame to hold more strength, but present skills are well behind typical starter timelines. Command has regressed badly over recent samples, and secondary pitches have not yet separated, pointing toward a relief-only or org-depth outcome. Best realistic case is a long reliever who can lean on velocity and a firm breaker if control makes a big jump. More conservative view pegs him as organizational depth with an outside shot to surface briefly if strike-throwing stabilizes in shorter stints.
