Cam Cannarella
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Cannarella projects as a hit-first, defense-driven center fielder with a realistic ceiling as an everyday regular if the bat holds against upper-level pitching. The combination of plus athleticism, strong center-field defense, and above-average contact skills gives him multiple avenues to contribute, even if power remains below average. His limited physical projection and shoulder history suggest major jumps in slugging are unlikely, so his path to value is maintaining on-base ability, leveraging speed, and anchoring outfield defense. The floor is a glove-first fourth outfielder who can cover all three spots and provide quality at-bats off the bench, with risk concentrated around how his bat and health translate to major league velocity and workloads.
