Kasen Wells

Hitting scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his size, modest power, and draft position, Wells projects conservatively as an organizational outfielder who could grow into a bench or up-down role if the hit and on-base tools prove resilient at upper levels. His carrying attributes are contact, zone control, and speed, which could play as a late-inning runner/defensive replacement if he defends well enough in left and center. The lack of impact power and only average arm strength limit his ceiling, especially at corner spots where offensive expectations are higher. Continued gains in route running, arm accuracy, and baserunning instincts would be required to push him toward a true 4th outfielder profile. Absent a surprising jump in strength or impact, he is more likely to serve as solid depth who can fill in across the outfield in the high minors.
