Griff O'Ferrall
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
O’Ferrall’s most plausible path is as a glove-first utility infielder, with second base the conservative major-league projection and shortstop remaining a useful assignment when his defense allows. His contact and strike-zone foundation, along with enough speed to add value on the bases, gives him a route to contribute if he can raise his on-base consistency and make more authoritative contact. The major obstacle is a multi-season lack of power, which leaves little offensive margin for error at the upper levels. A regular role would require a meaningful improvement in contact quality; otherwise, a versatile bench role is the more realistic ceiling, with limited offensive production creating a substantial risk he falls short of the majors.
