Walker Jenkins
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age-relative-to-level performance, physical tools, and up-the-middle defensive profile, Jenkins projects as an everyday center fielder with legitimate All-Star upside if the hit tool fully matures. The path to that role runs through continued refinement of his swing decisions and contact quality against big-league velocity while maintaining his ability to lift the ball. If the bat lands closer to above-average than plus, his combination of defense, speed, and power still fits comfortably in a first-division regular outcome. There is some risk that he ultimately slides to a corner, which would increase the offensive bar, but his current athleticism and reads suggest he can stay in center long enough for the bat to carry.
