Blake Wolters
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
The path to a major-league role begins with recovering the power and shape that made the fastball a carrying weapon, then getting the release and strike throwing back to at least fringe-average. Wolters has enough frame, arm speed, and breaking-ball history to remain a starter-development candidate, but shoulder trouble, interrupted workloads, and repeated walk issues make a bullpen conversion the more defensible projection. In relief, a return to the mid-90s or better with a sharper slider could let the fastball-slider combination play in a middle or matchup role. The floor is an up-down arm unless the command and durability problems deepen.
