Sebastian Gongora
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Gongora looks like a back-end starter candidate with a fallback path to a multi-inning relief role if the command stalls. The combination of a durable frame, left-handed strike-throwing history, and enough bat-missing ability to survive upper-minors lineups gives him a real shot to reach the majors, but the walk totals in pro ball keep him from projecting much higher than the bottom of a rotation. His ceiling is tied to whether he can make his fastball play more consistently and keep the secondary mix in the strike zone early in counts. If the command remains merely average, he fits as a fifth starter or depth arm rather than a bat-missing mid-rotation piece.
