Bryce Mayer

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his age, stuff, and current performance around Double-A, he projects most realistically as a back-end starter candidate who may ultimately settle into a multi-inning relief role if the changeup and command stall. If the changeup climbs toward fringe-average and he maintains average control, he could reach a ceiling of a low-end No. 4 starter who misses bats but battles some homer issues. More modest development would still leave him with the arsenal to function as a useful long reliever who can cover multiple innings with two above-average pitches. Probability leans toward some form of major league contribution, but with limited margin for error and little room for significant regression in command.

Projected MLB role: up-down #5 starter
