Jack Wenninger
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
The profile points toward a durable No. 4 starter if the mid-90s fastball and double-plus splitter remain consistent against major-league hitters. The splitter is the carrying pitch, while the four-seam ride, usable sinker, and tighter slider give him enough variation to navigate a lineup multiple times. His floor is more vulnerable than the 2025 breakout suggests because command has backed up and the 2026 season brought more hits, walks, and home runs. Continued fastball command and proof that the slider can remain a dependable third strike option will determine whether he reaches a stable rotation role or shifts into a multi-inning bullpen assignment.
