Jared Sundstrom

Hitting scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his age relative to level and recent performance trends, Sundstrom projects most realistically as a depth corner outfielder with a chance to surface in a bench or up-and-down role if the bat takes a step. The carrying elements are flashes of above-average raw power and some speed impact, but contact quality and consistency against upper-level pitching are currently short of everyday standards. With physical projection limited, improvement will have to come from swing and approach refinements that unlock more frequent hard contact without sacrificing too much power. If he can cut the strikeouts, keep some of the walk profile, and maintain his baserunning value, he could fit as a right-handed bench bat with spot starts in left and occasional center. If discipline and contact continue to lag, the floor is more of an organizational corner with sporadic upper-minors offense but not enough to clear the MLB bar.

Projected MLB role: up-down LF
