Jacob Bresnahan
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, left-handedness, and current three-pitch mix, he profiles as a potential mid-rotation starter if the command and slider both take the expected steps forward. The fastball and changeup already grade solidly above average on projection, giving him two legitimate weapons to attack major league hitters and a foundation for strikeouts. The main developmental track is improving strike-throwing consistency to curb his walk rate while sharpening the slider shape to miss more bats instead of just bats-to-balls. With continued strength gains, refined delivery timing, and experience at upper levels, he has a realistic path to a #3/#4 starter outcome, with a fallback of settling into a multi-inning relief role if the command stays below-average.
