Braylon Doughty
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Doughty’s mid-90s fastball, two high-spin breaking balls, and demonstrated ability to throw strikes give him a credible mid-rotation starter path. The curveball and slider provide complementary swing-and-miss shapes, while a more dependable changeup would help him handle advanced left-handed hitters and sustain effectiveness deeper into starts. His relatively brief pitching background, limited track record of full-season durability, and the need to adapt to upper-level hitters temper the ceiling and leave meaningful development ahead. Continued strength and workload progression could support a #3 starter outcome; if the changeup or durability stalls, a more modest rotation role is the fallback.
