Shane Van Dam
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Van Dam’s path is built around a power right-handed fastball/slider base with enough size and athleticism to believe in short bursts of strike throwing. The ceiling is a useful bullpen arm if the fastball plays above average in shorter stints and the slider remains a true miss pitch, but the floor is lower if the command backs up after the long layoff from injury. Given the limited track record, modest 2026 run prevention, and the lack of a clearly defined third pitch, the most realistic outcome is a reliever who can move between levels and help in low-to-middle leverage.
