Kash Mayfield
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given the combination of a carrying changeup, a solid fastball foundation, and above-average control from the left side, he projects as a mid-rotation starter with a chance to be slightly better at peak. More realistically, the floor looks like a durable back-end starter or quality multi-inning reliever if the breaking ball or command stall. Continued development of the slider into a true third weapon will largely determine whether he approaches that No. 3 type outcome. With his age, performance, and makeup, he is on schedule to move level by level without needing a role change.
