Kailen Hamson
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Hamson projects as a potential back-end or swing-role pitcher if professional development aligns with college performance. His five-pitch mix and strike-throwing ability from a college perspective provide some organizational intrigue, but his below-average fastball velocity combined with unproven professional effectiveness creates meaningful risk. Most likely outcome is development as a relief pitcher or organizational depth piece rather than core rotation pitcher. Success depends on whether strong command translates to professional competition level and if secondary pitches develop plus characteristics. Timeline suggests multi-year minor league assignment needed before determining professional ceiling.
