Yeremy Cabrera
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, defensive ability in center, and speed, Cabrera projects most realistically as a bench or fourth-outfielder type who can provide late-game defense and baserunning value. If the hit tool settles in around fringe-average and he taps into a bit more of his raw power, there is an outside path to second-division everyday time, but that would require real gains in contact quality versus upper-level pitching. The combination of plus defense and speed gives him a relatively stable floor; as long as he reaches even modest offensive competence, he should reach the majors in some capacity. Development priorities will be tightening his swing decisions, improving adjustability versus spin, and adding functional strength to turn more of his hard contact into extra-base damage.
