Cesar Lares
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
A lean left-hander with a full four-pitch mix, Lares currently profiles best as a potential multi-inning or long reliever who can spot start, with a remote chance to grow into a back-end starter if command and one secondary pitch tick up. Velocity and life are both fringy, so the margin for error is thin unless pitch design gains unlock more carry or movement. Statistical record at A-ball shows a pitcher who can compete but not yet control games, reinforcing a conservative outlook. With moderate physical projection remaining, incremental gains in strength and strike-throwing could move him into an up-down depth role at the upper levels, but the most likely outcome is organizational depth who can stabilize minor league rotations.
