Carlos Lagrange
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, size, and two potential plus pitches, Lagrange projects as a mid-rotation starter if he can reach fringe-average command and sustain a usable third offering. The alternative—and very real—path is a high-leverage bullpen role where his fastball/slider could play up further and reduce exposure to command lapses and changeup inconsistency. Current performance shows strikeout ability but WHIP and walk rates that reflect ongoing refinement needs, fitting with a development track still in progress. The key to reaching a #3 starter ceiling is maintaining health, tightening his delivery enough to live in the zone more often, and elevating the changeup to at least show-me quality versus advanced lineups.
