Grant Kipp
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age relative to level and fairly complete pitch mix, he projects most realistically as a back-end starter who can provide bulk innings when healthy. The path to that role runs through stabilizing fringe-average command and leaning into the curveball and slider as legitimate weapons that can miss bats in the zone. If strike-throwing backslides or the fastball proves too hittable against better lineups, he has the floor of a multi-inning depth arm who rides the shuttle between Triple-A and the majors. Continued gains are more likely to be incremental—improved strike efficiency, refined sequencing—than any big stuff jump. With steady development he can carve out a role as a #5 starter on a second-division club or swingman on a contender.
