Jostin Florentino
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his modest signing pedigree but strong early performance, he profiles as a potential up-down relief arm with an outside chance at back-end starter if the changeup and command both take a step forward. The current stuff mix—solid-average fastball and slider, playable changeup, and decent strike-throwing—fits more comfortably in a multi-inning bullpen role at higher levels. Durability appears adequate, but he will need to prove he can hold stuff and command over longer seasons and against deeper lineups. The path forward likely involves refining his fastball shape, sharpening slider consistency, and tightening strike-zone control to give his pitchability a chance to carry him to the upper minors and possibly a cup of coffee in the majors.
