Ubaldo Soto
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, present velocity, and feel for three pitches, he projects most realistically as a back-end starter with a chance to creep into solid mid-rotation value if the secondaries and command both tick up. The four-seam fastball already grades around average to above for a young arm, and added strength should help him maintain it across longer outings. Changeup flashes enough quality to become a reliable major league weapon, while the breaking ball needs refinement in shape and consistency. If the delivery stays healthy and he learns to sequence more effectively, he has a plausible path to a #4-type starter who can give innings with average strikeout and walk rates; if command stalls, a generic reliever outcome is a secondary track.
