Scouting summary
Alvarez looks like a young up-the-middle athlete whose value is built on getting on base, running well, and providing competent center-field defense. If the added strength continues and the game power reaches average, he has a path to an everyday regular in center or a strong second-division regular. If the power stalls, he still has enough speed and contact to remain a useful defensive center fielder, but the offensive impact would be lighter. The most realistic outcome is a player who reaches the majors on the strength of athleticism and on-base skills, with the bat determining whether he settles in as an everyday regular or a lower-end center-field option.
