Yovanny Duran
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Duran has a credible path as a contact-first, athletic center fielder, but the profile remains developmental rather than close to major-league ready. His best current ingredients are switch-hitting bat control, strike-zone feel, average-to-better speed in games, and instinctive defensive actions; the main question is whether those skills hold against full-season pitching while his frame adds strength. The ceiling is a second-division regular if he becomes an above-average on-base hitter and maintains center field, with a utility or bench outcome more likely if the bat settles below average. Continued success against velocity, spin, and more disciplined defensive assignments will determine whether the projection improves.
